Weapon specific quests are not fun when you don’t have that exact weapon that has good stats in your inventory, stock guns laying on the ground cannot even compete with everyone else’s guns so sometimes a single quest can take days, sometimes even a week.
A good solution to this problem would be quest re-rolls, i suggest 3 quest re-rolls a day to allow for quests to become more fun than they currently are.
