The sun was starting to set. Rhys was standing on the bridge, looking over the river. The autumn trees on each side swayed in the light breeze. "Eight years..." Rhys muttered, lost in thought. She snapped back to reality as she heard footsteps approaching. Without turning, Rhys was able to identify the figure out of the corner of her eye. "So that's it." CCX announced, leaning on the bridge railing next to Rhys. "Yeah, it's finally ending. Player numbers were to low, Harry was gone...there wasn't any reason left, eh?" Rhys said, continuing to watch the river. She was watching a fish slowly make it's way against the flow of the water. "We got a few years after I took over, but GarrysMod was going to die anyway. The server lasted a bit longer than it would have." CCX noticed the fish but didn't pay attention to it. "New tattoo?" Rhys asked, seeing CCX's right arm. "Yes, my seventh." he responded, looking at it with pride. The tattoo was the cover of Blink-182's newest album. "You'd better be careful, any more and you won't be able to count them." Raptor chuckled." "Keep that up and I'll get one of a hawk being eaten." CCX said, smiling. "You know I'd find that hilarious." Rhys pointed out. "Maybe I should then." CCX reasoned. "I'd like that." Rhys responded. It was silent for a minute. Rhys watched as the fish finally managed to get out of sight. "No sign of Harry?" Rhys asked. "Not since he gave control of everything to me." CCX answered. "How are the final Staff handling it?" "They're a bit sad but they've all seen it coming for a while. Insert's working on his new game and I hear he has a full team for it, Obama is keeping an eye on the server until it's shutdown tonight, and Inster is telling people that he's Harry and will return to working on the server. Vladimir made his seasonal appearance and we had to explain that the server was shutting down cause he missed everything. Oh, and Kokichi has almost finished the RPG. I think." Rhys explained. "Haha, nothing changes." CCX laughed. "In the seven years I've been here, that's the one thing I've learned." Silence fell again. Both of them knew what this meeting meant. "So is this the last time we'll meet?" CCX asked, not looking at Rhys. "Probably. It's spreading fast." Rhys answered, staring out over the lake. "Doctors say I have about a week." It was quiet for a few minutes as both of them looked over the river. Nothing was visible in the river except rocks, but they didn't want to look at anything else. Finally, CCX broke the silence. "My condolences." "Eh, it's been a long time coming. Life's been hard and maybe I can finally be at peace." Rhys responded. "I guess." CCX continued to stare over the river. "You'd better get going. It's getting late plus we have phones so we don't need to stay out here." I pointed out. "Yeah, I haven't had dinner yet. I'll catch you on Discord later." CCX agreed, turning away from Rhys. "Have a good night." Rhys said. "You too." CCX walked away, leaving Rhys alone on the bridge. The sun had completely set, the only light being from a dimly lit street lamp behind where they had been standing, but Rhys stayed looking over the river for a few more hours, before she turned and started to walk away. Before she was off the bridge, she looked up at the moon. "Was I a good person? Perhaps I'll never know. But I do know that I enjoyed these last few years. Thank you, all of you." She walked forward and was engulfed in shadow.
